A village theatre group which promotes inclusivity will buy a piano after receiving a donation worth hundreds of pounds.

Yatton Freemason Lodge of Agriculture has handed over a cheque worth a whopping £411 to Congresbury-based charity AppleShed Inclusive Theatre.

AppleShed, which hopes to encourage people with and without disabilities to interact together, has vowed to spend the cash on a piano which will be used for stage shows.

The theatre group meets at Congresbury War Memorial Hall, in High Street, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings during term time, with sessions for young children and adults.

A spokesman for the theatre group said: “We believe people can grow when everyone works together in a safe, yet challenging and fun environment and this produces an excellent standard of performing arts.”
