Witnesses sought for M5 car crash

A crash involving a taxi driver who collided into the back of another vehicle as he was ‘distracted’ is being investigated by police.

Officers want to hear from motorists who may have seen a crash on the M5 on August 12 at about 1.20pm.

A silver VW Passat taxi was in collision with the rear of a grey Audi Q3 in lane three in heavy traffic.

The incident occurred between junctions 19 and 20, the split-level section between Gordano and Clevedon.

The taxi driver said he was distracted, causing him to collide with the other vehicle.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: "We're keen to hear from anyone who was travelling southbound who may have captured the incident on a dash-cam camera, or may have seen the incident and have information to help our enquiries.
