Appeal for public support
CAMPAIGNERS hoping to install a footpath around Backwell Lake are appealing for letters from the public to support the project.
Backwell Access Group has applied for a grant from the Big Lottery Fund to pay for the �25,000 path and the group now needs to provide evidence that members of the community need a path around the beauty spot.
Wheelchair users and parents with pushchairs have great difficulty accessing the lake at present as there is no path around the water.
Anyone keen to support the project is being asked to send a letter detailing the benefits the path will bring to them to alison.morgan@tesco.net or to her home address at 1 Birdlip Close, Nailsea, BS48 4TG.
