Children met meerkats, snakes, bearded dragons and hissing cockroaches in Nailsea last week.

Bryan Paterson took his menagerie of animals along to Crown Glass Shopping Centre as part of the town's Wacky Wednesday programme to entertain children in the holidays.

Youngsters learned about the creatures along with pygmy hedgehogs, spiders, scorpions, giant millipedes and a barn owl.

Bryan and his wildlife displays team are one of the most respected wildlife, falconry and bird of prey display presenters in the UK.

The last Wacky Wednesday event takes place this week when The Knights' Fun Circus Skills Workshop will see children taking part in activities, including tight-wire walking, hula hooping, plate spinning, peacock feather balancing and poi.
