Portishead Town Council’s new clerk has been revealed, as her predecessor moves to a different authority.

Andrea Durn has replaced Jo Duffy, who will move to Nailsea Town Council next month after six years in Portishead.

Ms Durn will be tasked with ensuring the authority is run properly and will aid decision-making with professional advice, and will work alongside Mrs Duffy for a fortnight.

Ms Durn said: “I am looking forward to working with residents and businesses to hear what they would like for the town, and supporting the town council in achieving those ambitions to make Portishead a great place to live and work.”

When her departure was announced in September, Mrs Duffy said: “I am very excited about the prospect of working and assisting Nailsea Town Council with its plans for the future.

“I will be sad to leave my staff and councillors here at Portishead.”

She was presented with flowers last week.
