Motorists are being urged to be extra careful this afternoon (Tuesday) and evening when driving home with heavy rain predicted to fall across the West Country.

Wet weather is highly likely according to the Met Office and South Western Ambulance Service Foundation Trust (SWASFT) has reminded people to drive to the conditions as a result.

A SWASFT spokesman tweeted: “Heavy rain (is) expected across much of the South West today.

“If you are on the roads please take care and allow extra travel time.”
