MEMBERS of an allotment project in Clevedon have celebrated the first year of success.
Mental health organisation Friend and care provider Arch Care Services, which both have facilities in the town, have rented a plot at the Moor Lane allotment for the past 12 months to allow the people they help enjoy the outdoors.
With the aim of passing on skills to their members, the allotment has also given people a space to visit where they can relax and meet others. Produce from the plot is shared between members and some is sold to fundraise for the groups’ activities.
A garden party was held to celebrate the success of the shared scheme and the organisations now plan to apply for grants to continue the work and pay for new materials.
