AN ELDERLY man had to be taken to hospital after choking on food at a Nailsea restaurant.
Ambulances were called to Bottelino’s in High Street at 12.40pm on June 15 after reports of a man thought to be either suffering a heart attack or choking.
A rapid response vehicle arrived at the scene at 12.53pm, backed up by an ambulance crew. The air ambulance was also requested to attend as a precaution, landing on grassland adjacent to High Street.
The man, thought to be in his 70s or 80s, was eventually taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary by road ambulance.
The blockage in his throat was cleared and the patient was fine.
