Exercise classes for people over 65 have been rolled out across North Somerset.

Extend, Movement To Music is designed specifically for people over 65 and those who are less mobile.

The gentle exercise sessions enable people to improve their balance, co-ordination, energy levels and mobility while meeting new people and having fun.

Nikki Smith, Age UK Somerset’s local class co-ordinator said: “Being active has a huge positive effect on health at any age, but among older people, doing more can have a life-changing impact.

“We run a number of extend classes in North Somerset and participants say it’s a great way to have fun, meet new people and feel fitter.”

Extend classes, priced £4, are held in Portishead, Pill, Nailsea and Clevedon and a run by experienced instructors.
