A CELEBRATION to mark the first biography of Wurzel Adge Cutler is being held in Nailsea today (Wed).

Adge: King of the Wurzels has been written by author and journalist John Hudson, who spoke to scores of his relatives and friends to gain an insight into the life of a man whose songs are loved all over the country.

John will be signing copies of the book at the event in the Royal Oak, High Street, from 7-9pm, when a rare archive film of Adge will be shown.

Adge came from Nailsea and is buried in the town’s churchyard. The Wurzels also recorded their first live album at the Royal Oak.

Adge’s friends and relatives will be toasting the Wurzel with a glass of cider at the event and hearing some stories about Adge and his tremendous influence in the area.
