AROUND 90 Girl Guides ended the school summer holidays with an action-packed guide camp break.
Guides, leaders and senior section members from Clevedon, Portishead and Redcliffe Bay spent several days at Deer Park Activity Centre near Cheltenham, taking part in grass sledging, pistol shooting and climbing, along with the traditional elements of pitching tents, cooking, craftwork and camp fire singing.
A time-travelling theme gave the camp a unique twist, which saw the girls step back in time to Medieval England to learn archery, make plastic mini-dresses in 1960’s London and find themselves imprisoned by malfunctioning robots in the year 5011 AD.
