Abbots Leigh wildlife group's rewilding family event took place at the village hall on June 29.

Villagers learned about the area's biodiversity and habitats in the area, including protected species.

Collections of wildlife artefacts and photographs were on display, while youngsters could look at mini wildlife using binoculars and hold animals including a privet moth.

A collection of artefacts, wildlife gardening consultations and animal trap and release also took place.

The event also provided people with an update on the Abbots Leigh, Ham Green, Pill and Easton-in-Gordano Neighbourhood Plan, which aims to sustain the ecological strengths of the parishes while protecting and safeguarding its most vulnerable assets.
