A kennels is celebrating more than 30 years of business.

Abbots Leigh Boarding Kennels, in Pill Road, has space for 40 kennels and trained staff can respond to emergency situations.

The company employs seven part-time staff members and trains students from secondary schools and colleges in the area.

A planning application to demolish the kennels and build a three-bedroom bungalow in its place was successful, but there are no plans to close the business.

Manager Petra Turner told the Times: “We take dogs with all kinds of issues, with all temperaments and of all ages.

“We are able to administer medication and adhere to dietary requirements.”
