Mateusz Krzeminski, who had dreadlocks, will donate the money raised to Cancer Research UK.

The 25-year-old said he donates money to the charity every year but he wanted to do something different this year.

He managed to raise his target of £1,200 including gift aid.

Mateusz, who is a bartender at The Moon and Sixpence, said: "This is the first time in eight years cutting my hair.

"I have just let it grow over the years.

"I had an interesting experience organising this event and I had many conversations with people who either lost someone or they are going through hard times now.

"This was done for a good cause and if I had more hair I would definitely do it all over again."
