A body was found in Clevedon this morning


A road in Clevedon was cordoned off this morning (Thursday) after a body was found.

Avon and Somerset police was called out at 6am after reports a woman, aged 60, had gone missing from her home, in Colehouse Lane.

The officers carried out a search of the area with the support of the coastguard.

Shortly before 8.15am a body was found and the road was closed while police dealt with the incident.

The road reopened just before 10am.

A formal identification has yet to take place but the family has been made aware.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are making enquiries on behalf of the coroner.
