A care home resident in Somerset is celebrating her 103rd birthday.
Kay Lang, a member of Sewell House in Winscombe, reached the landmark age on Thursday, September 10.
Born in England in 1923, Mrs Lang moved to India with her family at the age of three.
Her father worked as an engineer, building railways in Northern India, where Mrs Lang was educated at home before briefly attending boarding school in Darjeeling.
In 1940, she returned to India to her parents, where she helped in schools before being called up at 18 to work as part of the Women's Auxiliary Corps (India), working in a British hospital near Delhi.

Here, she met Captain Bill Lang, and the couple married in 1945.
After the war, Mrs Lang returned to the UK alone while expecting their first child, and her husband followed shortly after; they settled in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.
Following his death in 1975, she spent 31 years on the Isle of Wight before moving to Sewell House in Winscombe at the age of 94 to be closer to her daughter, Jill.
During her nine years at Sewell House, Mrs Lang has been an active member of the community.
She established and runs its library, supports coffee mornings, attends craft club, Holy Communion, and Quaker meetings, and has been described as a "remarkable and special lady".
