Nailsea and District Croquet Club welcomed 35 people to a successful open day recently.
The event was held to introduce people to different forms of croquet.
Attendees enjoyed the dry weather as they tried their hand at various versions of the game, including association croquet, golf croquet, and quick croquet.
Many of the attendees stayed for a long period of time and were sustained by hot drinks and a free barbecue.
The club's four main lawns were set up as large or small lawns for participants to play on.
Lawn five was reserved for fun games, which involved knocking balls at targets or following a path.
A centre peg was set up on all lawns and a competition was held for non-members to get as close to the peg as possible from the perimeter line.
The club said that several attendees signed up for the club's taster sessions after the open day, which will be held throughout the season, and that people who are interested in learning more about the sport can find all the information they need on the Nailsea and District Croquet Club website.
