EMERGENCY services will host an open day in Portishead this weekend.
Avon and Somerset Police and Avon Fire and Rescue will be hosting a free open day for the public at Police and Fire HQ in Portishead.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “As you may be aware on Saturday, September 14, Avon and Somerset Police and Avon Fire and Rescue will be hosting a free open day for the public at Police and Fire HQ in Portishead.
“On Sunday, September 15, there will also be a day for family and friends of staff and officers who work for the police and fire service.
“Tickets for the public open day on the Saturday have now sold out.
“However, any tickets that are returned between now and the Open Day will be made available here: https://orlo.uk/7rfgO
“The event starts at 10.30am and finishes at 4pm, and throughout the day there will be displays from our horse, dog, firearms and various other teams, as well as demonstrations from the fire service showing how they respond to road traffic collisions.
“On both days, traffic is expected to be heavier along Weatherly Drive and Valley Road with visitors accessing the temporary car parks - a field just below HQ on Valley Road, and a second car park set up along the section of Valley Road that leads to Down Road.
“The section of Valley Road leading to Down Road will be closed except for access on both days between 10am and 5pm.
“There will also be parking restrictions in place along the roads around HQ.
“More information on the open day, including a frequently asked questions section can be found here: https://orlo.uk/Po8bd”
