A PORTISHEAD café is staying open from 10am to 8pm to let its customers enjoy the sunset.
The café at Portishead Lido will close at 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
People can pop in after an afternoon swim in the pool or make a date to visit at the end of the day.
It offers the opportunity for a glass of wine, beer or soft drink together with a range of snacks and cakes.
All this whilst watching the sun setting over Wales on the opposite shore of the Severn Estuary.
This is just one of the initiatives that pool manager Matt Sidwell has brought in since his appointment earlier this year.
He said: “The café is a fabulous location and we were often asked why it was not open in the evenings to enjoy the views and the colours of the sun setting.
“We extended the hours and made a push to get more volunteers to staff the café which has worked well.
“The café is very popular in the day and café users have given us very positive feedback since we started evening openings.
“We are planning a number of other initiatives around the pool and café so watch this space.”
The cafe is situated within the Portishead Open Air Pool complex on Esplanade Road in Portishead.

Both the pool and the café are run by Portishead Pool Community Trust, a volunteer led organisation.
