THE Portishead Summer Show saw thousands basking in sun and fun, thanks to the Portishead Horticultural Society.
On the final weekend of July, the society's show was a feast of sights and sounds, with plenty of activities for everyone.
Linda Hodgetts, general secretary, praised the support from volunteers, exhibitors, traders and public members buying tickets.
A variety of attractions at the show field, such as the Mini Pony Show, Kevin's Community Circus, Punch and Judy, and the Aldabra Giant Tortoises, saw a steady stream of visitors while local dance groups and bands like Chicken Teddies and The Fab Twins entertained.
The Fun Dog Show had a record 109 dogs entered in 18 classes.
Selecting a champion from the nine qualifiers was a challenging task.
The Horticultural and Handicraft tents were another attraction, with a whopping 1,300 class entries, marking an increase from the previous year.
Speaking on the preparation, Hodgetts highlighted the hard work that went into the year-long planning, and she nodded to the invaluable contribution of the volunteers.
They look forward to next year's show, set for Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27.
