NEW flats could soon be available on the Triangle in Clevedon.
A prior approval application has been submitted to North Somerset Council to turn offices on the first and second floors above the NatWest building into six bedsit apartments.
The bank branch closed in September 2022, with NatWest citing a lack of footfall amid the rise in online banking for the decision to shut it.
"The simple reason (for the closure) is the way businesses bank with us has changed," the bank said.
"The shift towards digital means many of our new customers manage their money online. With fewer people going into the branch, we've had to make some tough choices."
The curved building sits on the corner of the Triangle and Old Church Road.
A statement submitted with the application said: “Each flat is dual aspect and has existing windows to the north and fully glazed doors to the south.
“The flats are all studio apartments and essentially one single space with the exception of the bathroom.
“Each apartment will be well served by sunlight and daylight.”
