A ROAD in Backwell has been closed so that Wessex Water can repair a collapsed sewer.
Work on St Margarets Lane started today (Tuesday, May 7).
A public notice, written by North Somerset Council, reads: "Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council, under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended will, by virtue of this notice, for a period of up to 21 days, commencing on May 7 2024, close temporarily to vehicles the length of St Margarets Lane outside property No. 4.
"However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be three days in duration.
"The above restriction is necessary because of emergency works undertaken by Wessex Water to repair collapsed sewer."
