A PLANNING application has been submitted to turn a large house into a specialist post-brain injury rehabilitation unit in Weston.

If successful, the eight-bed property on 11 Beaconsfield Road would be turned into a unit for up to six people.

The application was validated by the council on Wednesday, April 17.

It's cover letter, written on behalf of Truth Care Group, reads: "My client proposes the change of use from a large (eight-bedroom) house in multiple occupation for up to eight people, to a specialist care facility for up to six people.

"No external alterations are proposed. The existing dwelling comprises eight bedrooms (all with en-suites) a kitchen, dining room and communal lounge, and 281sqm of gross internal floorspace. The proposed layout includes little in the way of internal reconfigurations, other than the erection of stud partition walls within rooms to create en-suite bathroom facilities for all bedrooms.

"Other than the six bedrooms, the facility would include a sensory room, communal living room, kitchen and dining room, and staff office. Externally, private amenity space is available in the form of the raised decking area.

"There are currently five parking spaces on site, to the front of the property. A secure cycle store was erected to the rear for eight bicycles, as part of the most recent planning permission."
