Nailsea Methodist Church, recent recipient of the Silver Eco Church award, is hosting an environmentally focused free Nailsea Eco Fair.

The event aims to unite the community over environmental concerns and foster better understanding of such challenges.

On Saturday March 9, from 10am to 3pm, the church will be bustling with a vast array of conservation and environmental groups.

Among the participants will be the Avon Wildlife Trust, Bristol Ornithological Club, and the Yatton & Congresbury Wildlife Action Group.

Christian organisations Green Christian, A Rocha and Christian Climate Action will also be in attendance.

Notable national charities, including Greenpeace, and local groups such as Bristol’s The Community Farm, the Nailsea-based Fagus Gardening Club, and Friends of Trendlewood Park will have stalls.

John Silvester, chair of the Nailsea Methodist Church Eco Group, said: "As Christians we are called to reflect on the custodianship of the earth in our everyday lives by making wise choices.

"We are on a journey to make the Church a gold awarded Eco Church.

"We have already gained our silver Eco Church award and wish to reach out to the local community to involve it in our future plans."

The Church's venue at Silver Street will transform into a hub for reparation, recycling and repurposing methodologies with specialists like the Nailsea Shedders in attendance.

Participating groups will offer advise in composting, renewable energy, waste management, and recycling.

Church representatives strongly urge the local community to take advantage of this free event.

Everyone is encouraged to come along, with refreshments being served.

Local groups interested in being part of the fair should reach out to Richard Lancaster.

Kingsley Belton from the Nailsea Climate Emergency Group: “We are really looking forward to joining with a lovely variety of other local groups to share our vision of an eco-fairer world, as Margaret Mead famously said 'never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.'”
