COURAGEOUS young people and individuals that are helping to save the world will be recognised in this year's Pride of Somerset Youth Awards.

Sponsored by Gravity, the Environmental Award is designed to honour young individuals who are dedicated in making a positive difference in the environment.

Gravity plays a role in supporting the country's response to some of the major problems facing the world today, such as the climate crisis.

Claire Pearce from Gravity said: Gravity is immensely proud be the main sponsor of these awards as well as the ‘Environmental’ award. We welcome the opportunity to recognise and promote the inspirational young people across Somerset who go above and beyond for their communities.

"We are also delighted to introduce our key partners at Bounce Forward and Bridgwater United Community Sports Trust as sponsors of the ‘Championing Positive Mental Health’ and ‘Community Hero’ awards, respectively.

"The Gravity work on environmental and social governance is a team effort to contribute positively to the locality and help prepare and inspire young people about the future ahead.”

Young people who are courageous will also be recognised for their efforts in the Outstanding Courage Award.

Sponsored by Somerset Larder, the award celebrates extraordinary bravery and spirit.

Somerset Larder brings together produce from some of the region’s best farmers, artisan food makers, coffee roasters and bakers.

The organisation's website reads: "Somerset Larder was established in 2014 to bring together the county’s finest food and drink producers – to act as one – in order to compete for large catering contracts.

"Our vision is for the Somerset Larder brand to not just be known in the west country, but also way beyond that. Promoting the best produce from this bountiful corner of the UK to the rest of the world, creating a business which will benefit the region’s food and drink sector far into the future."
