Cadbury House has started the New Year by promoting one of its management team.

Matilda Burgess, originally from Nailsea, has been named the new marketing manager at the acclaimed South West four-star hotel.

She will spearhead everything from hotel operations to weddings, conferences, events and even the renowned Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill.

Ms Burgess initially joined Cadbury House as a wedding co-ordinator in April 2021, and swiftly moved up the ranks to a senior position by August of the same year.

In November 2022, she temporarily helmed the sales and marketing department to cover maternity leave, overseeing a sales team of six across hotel reservations, conference, open entertainment, weddings, and Christmas.

Eager to tackle this exciting role, Matilda Burgess said: "It's been an amazing couple of years and I'm naturally delighted to have received this promotion.

"Cadbury House is such a fast-paced, dynamic business and there are so many elements to what it can offer.

"That keeps me extremely busy and I’m very much looking forward to the year ahead."

Her promotion comes on the heels of Claire Jones's return from maternity leave, where she will resume her position as head of sales.

She supervises all areas of sales from events and rooms to conferences.

Additionally, Maddie Wood, who started her career as an apprentice at Cadbury House, will spearhead corporate hotel sales, concentrating primarily on short lead business that has witnessed a substantial rise since the pandemic.

Cadbury House general manager, Gareth Ireland, commended Matilda on her new role.
