A local football club from North Somerset have raised over £300 to two different foodbanks in the region.
Yatton & Cleeve United have collected £330, with £300 worth of food for Yatton Foodbank and a £30 donation to Clevedon Foodbank.
This is the second time in two years the Uhlsport Somerset County League Division One side have come together to produce a foodbank collection after raising around £250 last year.
In a statement published by the club, it read: "After seeing the impact this made to the foodbank and how grateful they were, we decided to repeat our actions of last season.
"Together, we’ve managed to raise £330 and did the same again, donated groceries at the local foodbank in Yatton along with a cash donation.
"As a club, we recognise that this time of year can be a particularly hard time for those in need with the added pressure of Christmas, so this is the least we could do to help those less fortunate.
"We hope that this will aid those that need it most and are thankful to be part of such of a great club where the players and members involved are so generous."
