YOUNG people from the Portishead Brownie group have recently showed off their emergency skills after undertaking a first aid course at GTE Training Academy.

The youngsters were shown how to deliver CPR, a crucial skill which could mean the difference between life and death, as well as how to use a public defibrillator.

Each member of the Brownie pack went home with a mini first aid kit, as well as a book detailing life-saving skills. This was provided by GTE managing director, Kevin Browning.

Speaking further about the work of GTE, Kevin said: "GTE Training Academy runs a wide range of accredited training courses for individuals and businesses including First Aid at work, Health and Safety at Work, Site Supervision and Management Training and more but we feel it is important to encourage young people to learn life saving skills and so we regularly host these sessions as part of our community engagement."
