PLANS have been submitted for two Portakabin buildings to be used as training rooms for an additional period of 52 weeks at Weston General Hospital.

The application, which was validated on October 5, reads: "As a dynamic hospital the overall site has undergone multiple developments to maintain a modern healthcare facility.

"The development site forming this application was vacant prior to the Portakabin installation.

"An important community asset serving the local NHS Trust, Weston General Hospital includes a multitude of in house departments, including IT, essential to support the needs of the hospital. It is this department which will occupy the temporary Portakabin buildings."
