PLANS have been submitted to convert an old Weston private school into nine flats.

Located in Ellenborough Park, Ashbrooke House is a disused school.

The application's accessible housing statement, put together by Gibson Architecture, says: "The building is well located to bus services and other transport links such as Weston Train Station. The building is within town which makes taxi an easily accessible service. 

"The proposal includes a total of 16 parking spaces within the site. Of the 16 spaces, five spaces have the capability of meeting accessible parking standards as set out within Part M of the building regulations."

If approved, works would include the demolition of outbuildings, the removal of a existing external staircase, a small extension to rear to create porch for rear ground floor flat, the reconfiguration of the roof with gables to the rear, and the installation of a new external spiral staircase.
