RNLI CREWS from Portishead have been called to launch following reports of a person spotted on Blackstone Rock in Clevedon.

Crew members were called to the scene over the weekend (Sunday, August 20) by HM Coastguard.

This was after a full morning of training, and the crew responded as soon as they were able.

The "good intent" call was made after a person was spotted on the rock, which could pose dangerous.

Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson from RNLI Portishead said: "Sunday afternoon (August 20) after a full morning of training, our volunteers received a call from the HM Coastguard requesting them to launch.

"There were concerns for a person seen on Blackstone Rock in Clevedon.
