A NORTH Somerset coastal town has been named as one of the best places to live by the sea, according to The Sunday Times.
Clevedon, which has really "come into its own" in the last five years, boasts popular attractions like a pier, the Marine Lake, and pubs, shops and schools.
The article explains how Clevedon used to be popular amongst potential homeowners who had been priced out of living in the centre of Bristol and instead chose to settle down in the seaside town, which is especially popular with residents and visitors alike during the summer months.
Over the last couple years, the town has become popular in its own right.
The article quotes David Wild, a director at Savills, who said: “It’s still better value than Bristol but it’s no longer second best and is now attracting buyers in its own right.
"It used to be a sleepy dormitory town and while it has retained a lot of its Victorian charm, these days it’s a safe option for families with lots going on and great connections to Bristol (35 minutes by car) and the M5.”
Residents can enjoy beautiful sunsets and views, too. The Times' article reads: "Flats close to the water start at about £300,000 (a view costs extra), but as you move away from the water the streets get leafier, the plots bigger and the houses grander. Expect to pay about £1.5 million for an imposing Victorian or Edwardian villa."
The average house price in Clevedon is, according to the article, £387,000.
