RECAP: Fire extinguished by crews at Yatton Infant School

  • A fire at Yatton Infant School has been extinguished by the Avon Fire & Rescue Service.
  • Crews were called to the blaze at 1.18pm today (Monday, May 29).
  • The service says all people have been “accounted for”, but the cause of the fire remains unknown.
  • Yatton High Street and the Co-op Food store were closed this afternoon while fire crews were working at the scene.
  • An eyewitness has described the fire as “truly devastating for our community”.
  • People were asked to avoid the area if possible and keep doors and windows closed.
