AN off-duty Avon and Somerset police officer accessed a confidential call record with no policing purpose, it is alleged.

PC Kevin Curd is also accused of disclosing that information to another person with no policing purpose to do so.

If proven, the alleged incidents said to have taken place on March 20 would amount to gross misconduct.

PC Curd faces an accelerated misconduct hearing chaired by force Chief Constable Sarah Crew on Friday (November 4) at police headquarters in Portishead.

The hearing will be told the officer breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour for police officers, specifically the standards of orders and instructions; duties and responsibilities; confidentiality; and discreditable conduct.
