RESIDENTS of Congresbury are to be treated with a series of community events this month (October).
The village Community Library, on Station Road, will host courses, talks from guest speakers and also open up as a 'warm bank' in the winter.
Here is the full list of events:
Saturday, October 15 - a Master Composters course will teach people how to start composting at home from 10am to 12 noon.
Thursday, October 20 - guest speaker Jo Edwards is to give a talk on 'the Real Thomas Cromwell' in the Methodist Hall, High Street, at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from the library for £4, or on the door.
Friday, October 21 - the Knitting Club will meet at the library from 10am to 12 noon for charity knitting projects.
Saturday, October 22 - the library is to host a Macmillan coffee morning with hot drinks and homemade cakes. People can also help make a banner for St Congar’s Day celebrations. All materials are supplied. Children and adults welcome. It will run from 10am to 2pm.
In November, the library will turn into a 'warm bank' every Monday afternoon between 2pm and 4.30pm at the St Congar’s Room, in the Old School Rooms.
It will start on November 7 and is called Open House.
