THE speed limit in Portishead’s High Street looks set to be reduced to 20mph.
A decision notice is due to be signed off by North Somerset councillor Elfan Ap Rees stating that the limit will reduce from 30mph.
As part of the scheme, traffic calming measures including raised tables at crossing points and a new zebra crossing in Combe Road will be created.
These look set to be installed when maintenance work to resurface and improve drainage in High Street is carried out in January.
North Somerset Council has set aside 44,000 for the project.
