A SMALL mustard pot was sold for more than 5,000 during an auction in Clevedon.
The four-inch tall Victorian novelty item was included in Clevedon Salerooms’ September specialist sale but few people expected the tide of international interest it generated.
Modelled as a bearded sailor leaning against a capstan, the silver piece was eventually sold to an Australian collector who was bidding over the Internet and paid a whopping 5,150.
