A WRAXALL mother will trek along the Great Wall of China for charity in memory of her father who died just two days after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Shelley Limbrick, aged 41, hopes to raise �3,500 for the Lymphoma Association (LA) following her father’s death in 2009.
Shelley (pictured left) said: “I lost my dad, Tom Flynn, just 48 hours after he was diagnosed and offered a treatment plan.
“LA was an invaluable help to me and my family during a very difficult time and I felt as though I wanted to show my appreciation.”
The mother-of-two starts her 10-day trek today (Thurs) alongside Sue Pickles from Nailsea.
The owner of SP Hair Company will be walking for St Peter’s Hospice after her mother spent time at its Bristol home in 2010.
She will be walking 20-25 miles every day during the challenge and said: “My mum spent her last week in the hospice and the staff were absolutely amazing. I feel I owe this to them now.”
Sue, who is aiming to raise �7,000, also completed a 10-hour bike-a-thon last week.
