CHROME bumpers glinted in the sun and the smell of leather seats filled the air when vintage vehicles lined up for inspection at a Nailsea pub at the weekend.
A total of 21 classic cars, including four sporty Turners, 20 antique motorbikes and an old tractor pulled in the crowds at the Ring O’ Bells in St Mary’s Grove.
The children got to pedal a go-kart around while the adults listened to bands, Firebirds Pub Band, Men at Ease and Tiger Lily as well as enjoying a barbecue both days.
The event, the first of many to be organised by the pub, raised �150 for Children’s Hospice South West.
Landlord Dave Green said: “The pub was packed and the weather was great, which helped in our bid to make this a real community place.”
As part of Nailsea Arts Festival the pub is hosting live music this weekend, followed by a comedy night on May 25.
