NAILSEA town centre will be transported back to the Middle Ages when the annual scouts carnival hits the streets next week.
The 25th Nailsea Carnival will once again weave its way through the town on July 7 before finishing at Millennium Park in Nailsea Park for fairground rides and a summer fete.
The popular carnival and fair will see the scouting community dress up in colourful dress before medieval knights do battle in a special re-enactment.
Steve Hamey, 1st Nailsea Scouts leader, said it will prove to be a great family-orientated event.
He said: “The carnival will have something for everyone and we are sure it will be a wonderful day out for the whole town.
“It really is a spectacle to see so we’d love to get as many local people involved as possible. We already have a wonderful line up of entries but it would be great to see even more.
“This year the medieval re-enactment is going to be one of the highlights. I’m really looking forward to seeing the reaction of the crowd and enjoying a brilliant local day out.”
