A HUMAN resources manager, whose son tragically died within days of being born, has raised more than 2,000 for the charity which researches sudden infant death syndrome.
Peter Spargo, who works at Stancombe Quarry in Flax Bourton, ran the Brighton Marathon in April in Henrik’s memory and has continued to support the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID).
The total raised includes a donation of 200 from his employers, Tarmac.
Peter said: “I’ve been overwhelmed with the support that I’ve received from everyone at Tarmac, which really spurred me on during the race, especially when I hit the dreaded wall at the 20-mile marker and I managed to stagger to the finish in 3 hours 54 minutes.”
FSID’s chief executive, Francine Bates, said: “We would like to thank and congratulation Peter as running a marathon is an amazing achievement.”
