THE Catholic parishes of Nailsea and Portishead will soon be sharing a new priest.

Father Robert King will move to Nailsea from the University Catholic Chaplaincy in Clifton, Bristol, where he has been for 10 years, to head up St Francis’ Church, in Nailsea and St Joseph’s Church, in Portishead.

Father Robert served as diocesan chancellor and vocations director and brings an interest in new media to his new role.

As well as presenting his own radio programme in Bristol, he has written and directed a number of short films, as well as participating as a Catholic judge and discussion panellist at film festivals.

Parishioners at St Francis said goodbye to Fr Sam Ofia who has been their priest for the past three years and is moving to St Dunstan’s in Somerton and St Joseph’s in Langport.
