? THE sound of balls being potted could be heard throughout the weekend in Backwell Village Club as enthusiasts took part in a 24-hour snookerthon.
Avon and Somerset Police organised the event to raise money for Action for Blind People’s iCan appeal to pay for a new technology training suite for the south west.
The Peelers snooker team, which consists of serving and retired officers and staff, cued up from 11am on Saturday until 11am on Sunday raising more than �1,000 for the cause.
