OLD paths and trails which cross a Clevedon nature reserve have been reinstated thanks to the work of volunteers.

The Friends of Poets’ Walk have reopened a number of trails on Church Hill and are hoping people will go out and explore them.

The paths include a gently sloping woodland route branching off from a formal path across the southern slope of the hill and the recently-restored zig zag path above Salthouse Woods has been cleared.

The voluntary Friends of Poets’ Walk was formed in 2011 to increase the variety and quality of habitats in the area as well as to make it a more enjoyable and accessible nature reserve for the public.

Their work includes scrub control, enhancement of woodland, the removal of non-native species and path clearing.

The friends regularly carry out work at Poets’ Walk on Thursday afternoons. Anyone interested in getting involved can contact Angela on 01275 873974 or visit www.clevedonconservationvolunteers.org/poets-walk
