Portishead Independents has won overall control of Portishead Town Council.
The Conservatives’ grasp on the authority fell in dramatic fashion, with them losing all 10 of their seats.
The Portishead Independents were the big winners picking up 12 seats in their first election, with the Liberal Democrats winning the remaining two.
It meant Portishead Town Council chairman Peter Mitchell was deposed, with North Somerset Council Association town branch leader, Don Cameron, also lost out.
The dramatic shift in membership means no town councillor remains from the 2015-19 administration, apart from Sue Mason of the Liberal Democrats.
At North Somerset Council level, a similar shift occurred.

The six Conservative members all lost – Felicity Baker, David Jolley, Reyna Knight, David Oyns, David Pasley and Peter Burden.
Caritas Charles, Paul Gardner, Timothy Snaden and Nicola Holland won for Portishead Independents, as did independent John Cato and the Liberal Democrats’ Huw James.
