MEMBERS of Portishead Rotary have presented CLIC Sargent with a 2,000 donation.
The children’s cancer charity was one of the charities chosen by the group’s president Chris May during his year of office.
He said: “During my year, the club organised another hugely successful swimathon, an Abba tribute band concert, a barn dance and a 40s evening as well as many other fund-raising events.
“I am immensely proud of my fellow members for their support and I am delighted that we have succeeded in raising this sum for CLIC Sargent - a cause close to my heart.”
The 2,000 could be enough to pay for a CLIC Sargent nurse for two-and-a-half weeks. They provide specialist care in hospital and during home visits.
