Grand Pier rides and amusements

Weston-super-Mare

A visit to Weston-super-Mare wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the funfair on the pier. They have a huge range of traditional fairground attractions, arcade games and go-karts, as well as a soft-play area for toddlers, so there’s something to suit all ages. Some of our favourite rides include the Sidewinder swinging pendulum, House of Horrors haunted house, and the Freefall drop tower. There’s even a 4D cinema, so you really are spoiled for choice!

North Somerset Carnival

Weston Super Mare - Friday 13th November 2015

Other locations throughout Somerset 7th-21st November

If you’re more of a spectator than a thrill-seeker then you’ll love some of the carnival displays at the annual Guy Fawkes Carnival in Weston-Super-Mare. Over 140 illuminated carts, entertainers, and marching bands will pass through town, with thousands of spectators expected to line the streets. The route will begin in Locking Road car park, and will progress through the town centre, along the Boulevard to the seafront, turning into Carlton Street, and finishing up at Station Road. The Carnival promises to be an evening of fun and family entertainment, as the intricate carts light up the sky. Each one is built by local clubs to raise money for charity. Not only is it a great night out, but it’s all for a good cause, so there’s no excuse not to head along.

Weston Wheel

If you prefer a slower paced ride then this could be the answer. Weston Wheel provides passengers with panoramic views across the North Somerset coastline, from 50 meters high, whilst in the safe and warm environment of a fully enclosed glass capsule. The London Eye has got nothing on this!
