Are you an adrenaline junkie, always seeking the next adventure and a chance to push yourself to the limit? Then check out our favourite 7 activities, from rock climbing to kite surfing, that is bound to get your heart racing and adrenaline pumping
Head deep underground with a caving adventure in the Mendips and explore one of the largest underground cave networks in the UK. Adventure Caving offer experiences tailored to you needs, from beginners to advanced cavers, and you are accompanied by an experienced instructor throughout.
Have a good head for heights? Then why not try rock climbing? Scaling a cliff face requires determination, athleticism and balance and the achievement you feel when you reach the top is amazing. The Mendips has some of the best limestone climbing in Britain and outdoor activity provider Mendip have a permanent climbing tower and their own, private 50 acre rock sport quarry with climbs to test all abilities.
Who says you need snow for winter sports? You can learn to ski or snowboard at Mendip Snowboard Centre. For the more experienced skier/snowboarder there is a challenging 165 metre slope complete with moguls, bumps, jumps and quarter pipe.
Horse riding can be both exhilarating and relaxing, whether galloping cross country, jumping or enjoying a tranquil hack. Best of all it is an activity anyone can do regardless of age, ability or background. Clevedon Riding Centre is approved by the British Horse Society and offers lessons and hacks for all abilities.
Kite surfing must be one of the most exhilarating sports around and one the adrenaline junkie has to try. Standing on a kiteboard the kiteboarder harnesses the power of the wind with a large controllable power kite so they can be propelled across the water. It allows you to reach incredible speeds and literally fly across the water. If you head to Weston beach on Tuesday nights you can try it for free with Wind, Wheels & Waves where you start off on the beach learning the basics and how to fly and control the kite.
Strapping your feet onto a board with wheels before venturing down a grassy hill at breathtaking speed may sound a little foolhardy to say the least but it is one of the fastest growing crazes in the UK. A cross between skateboarding and snowboarding mountainboarding allows you to ride a variety of different terrains all year round, unlike skate boarding and snowboarding.
