The iconic love story of Baby and Johnny Castle will be shown at Clevedon’s cinema.
The Curzon, in Old Church Road, will show the 1987 American romantic dance drama, Dirty Dancing.
Watch sparks play between Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman (Jennifer Grey) and dance instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze).
Baby is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps.
Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she is disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in Catskills with her parents.
Her luck turns, however, when Johnny enlists her as his new partner and the two fall madly in love.
Baby’s father forbids her from seeing the hunk but she is determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer – featuring the first lift.
Dirty Dancing was the first film to see more than a million copies made for home video and its soundtrack, created by Jimmy Ienner, generated two multi-platinum albums.
The single and film’s lead song (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life, won both the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award.
The film’s popularity led to the prequel, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and a stage version which has had a number of sold-out performances.
It will be screened on February 14 at 7.30pm.
The Times has teamed up with the Curzon to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets to see the film.
This competition will close at 10am on Monday.
Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final.
By entering this competition you are agreeing to be contacted by the paper regarding the prize.
Please note Curzon staff and volunteers are not eligible to enter this competition.
