Dunkirk (12A) charts the evacuation of 330,000 British and Allied troops from the beaches of northern France from May 26 to June 4, 1940.
With the enemy bearing down on them from inland, the soldiers were trapped on the beach and faced with a barrage German bombardments from the skies as they waited for British ships to finally arrive and take them home.
Christopher Nolan’s latest blockbuster has earned outstanding reviews from critics and film-lovers alike, and will be screened at the Curzon from Friday until August 10.
A live streaming from the Glyndebourne Opera House of Mozart’s La Clemenza Di Tito will be shown tomorrow (Thursday) ahead of a broadcast of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Titus Andronicus on August 9.

This will consist of a run of four films throughout August beginning with Joe Wright’s Pride And Prejudice on August 10, which stars Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen.
Other films to keep an eye out for this week include Spider-Man: Homecoming (12A), Cars 3 (U) and Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (U).
